Good day to all, I am Seth Bunch and I am currently studying to be an art teacher with a concentration in sculpture at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I hope to attend graduate school for art history after graduating in 2013.
I decided to pursue art in college after finding out that grandma had become very very ill the summer before I went to school. She was a wonderful artist herself and brought the best out in me. Turns out the colors from her paint brush leaked into my veins and art soon became my passion.
Making sculpture and being in front of a canvas are the only places where life makes sense to me. Aside from my art, I love to play any sports I can get my hands on, mainly soccer and tennis. Hiking is something that I greatly enjoy, but that I rarely get to do mostly because of my location. Above all these other things there are two other things I take great pleasure in more than any other: spending time with people and helping the needy. I love getting to know people and interacting with them. This is how we learn and were meant to live, in community with one another. Some of my fondest memories are staying up all night chatting with my friends about life and sharing laughs.
Doing something about the suffering in this world is something that I will do in heartbeat and have a passion for. Whether it is bringing a kid food that hasn’t eaten in days or comforting that teenage girl because her boyfriend just broke up with her. I have been to Africa and Jamaica to do this but I have learned it doesn’t matter what the suffering looks like as long as we are constantly doing something about it.
